Reasons for choosing silicone rubber wires and cables?2026-09-17

Simply put, the silicone rubber used in these wires and cables is a synthetic elastomer made from a cross-linked silicone-based polymer reinforced with fillers; to a certain extent, it achieves a combination of chemical and mechanical properties that ordinary organic elastomers cannot match.

First, silicone rubber maintains a long service life even in harsh environments. Its performance remains virtually unaffected by external factors such as rain, snow, moisture, ozone, and ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and its inherent, excellent electrical insulation properties do not undergo significant changes—whereas typical organic elastomers tend to become brittle after prolonged exposure. Second, there are few temperature limitations for silicone rubber wires and cables; they function effectively within a range of -100°C to 316°C (-148°F to 600°F), eliminating the need for specialized alternatives like high-temperature fluoroplastic cables. In contrast, organic elastomers soften and suffer irreversible deformation at temperatures above 100°C (212°F) and become brittle at temperatures below -25°C (-13°F).
